He also knows when a sparrow falls to the ground. Our God, the all-knowing omniscient, omnipresent God knows every time our heart breaks, every time our heart breaks, every time we cry. I have been struggling for a year now about something I call a ‘thorn in the flesh’ like what Paul experienced. I know that what I have been going through is not in the same degree as he but that’s the best term I can call that now. Then this morning, in my daily morning devotion I read these sweet, sweet words said by David:
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
…
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
…
For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
2 Samuel 22
I don’t know about you but those words that I emphasized really gave comfort during these troubled times. God gave me a new strength, one which I refused again and again in the past. Friends, don’t let the enemy rob you the joy of serving the Lord. I promise you, with God, you will not fail. I know that we’re still humans having our pilgrimage in this world which is not our home, our final destination, but the joy which is uncommon in this time where suffering is present in all places should not be extinguished. People should look up to us because of the love that God radiates in our lives.
